Selecting a reputable validator to delegate to is vital, as they significantly influence the direction of the Bittensor protocol. Bittensor staking involves delegating TAO to subnet validators, boosting their influence and earning daily rewards. Validators combine delegated tokens with their own to carry out validation tasks.

Validators in Bittensor create tasks, evaluate the work of Subnet Miners, and distribute rewards based on performance. They also decide how to allocate $TAO (emissions) to each Subnet they register with.

TAO holders can delegate any amount of their stake to a subnet validator on the Bittensor network. Here’s how delegation works:

• A TAO holder, known as a delegator or nominator, stakes their tokens with a subnet validator, making the validator a delegate of the nominator. This increases the delegate’s effective stake and impact on the network.
• The subnet validator, or delegate, combines all delegated stakes with their own and uses this total to perform validation tasks across various subnets. They earn daily staking rewards proportional to their total stake.
• After deducting a percentage for themselves, the delegate distributes the remaining staking rewards back to the nominators.
